As you may or may not already know, many sites such as BBC, CBC and CNN include links to "RSS" or XML feeds of their news headlines. News sites aren't the only ones using this technology and the format has been popular for external news readers for years. That's where programs like Newspiper come in.
With Newspiper, you're able to keep up-to-date with news headlines and other functions of your favourite sites from within a single environment. The end-user usage of Newspiper is quite simple and with that said, staying 'in the know' is easy from one application.
Using news readers like this is a great alternative to constantly updating multiple browser windows. Newspiper gives one-click access to the news stories you may find interesting. The features included with Newspiper are suitable to regular non-power users, but keep in mind that news stories will still be opened with your default browser instead of from within Newspiper itself.
Newspiper is partially configurable and you're able to slightly change the layout and overall look of the application. The default installation will give you a list of different channels from where to grab news headlines, but overall it isn't much of an effort to customize it for yourself.
